The Board of Directors of the National Archives held a meeting under the chairmanship of His Excellency Hamad Abdul Rahman Al Madfa, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and attended by HE Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Vice Chairman, and Members of the Board. The Board reviewed issues and themes of the agenda, and took appropriate decisions that contribute to strengthening the National Archives’ work and performance.
The Chairman praised the continuous guidance and follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the National Archives. He stressed that His Highness keenness to support the National Archives is a strong motive for achieving excellence.
The attendees were briefed on the 2018 Quarterly Report and achievements. HE Dr. Abdulla Alraisi, Director General of the National Archives, attributed the National Archives’ outstanding performance this year to the “Year of Zayed Initiative”, which has doubled the productive and constructive national work domestically and abroad.
Members of the Board also reviewed the achieved projects of the "Centennial Initiative" launched by the National Archives in celebration of the Year of Zayed, especially in terms of strengthening the noble values and principles of cultural heritage established by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Members of the Board congratulated the National Archives on the projects achieved within the context of the Centennial Initiative, which surpassed expectations, as well as  the recent publications released at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, which enriched the cultural arena and provided academics and intellectuals with new pages from the UAE history and heritage.
