with the History of the UAE

The National Archives participates in the third edition of Aqdar World Summit under the theme “Global Empowerment of Communities: Experiences and Lessons Learned” which is being held in the Russian capital - Moscow in the period from 29 August to 1 September 2019 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The summit coincides with the launching of Moscow Global Forum, which brings together a group of UAE ministers, senior officials, academics and researchers. By its participation in this edition, the National Archives aims to enrich the summit’s events with the history of the United Arab Emirates and to inform the world about the ICA Congress 2020, which will be hosted by Abu Dhabi next year.
The participation of the National Archives in the third edition is similar to the last two editions of Aqdar Summit, which has now becomes a unique local and international event. It presents the history of the UAE as a model of a tolerant environment to the world. The National Archives believes that the march of the UAE since its establishment under the leadership of Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the development and prosperity it achieved under the wise leadership that followed suit the founding leader shall reach the world to be an ideal approach in the empowerment of humans and in creating the stability and sustainable development of societies.
Given the importance of the ICA Congress 2020, which will be hosted by Abu Dhabi in November next year, with the participation of thousands of archivists from around the world to discuss global archival issues in the field of archiving and documentation, the National Archives will brief the participants in Aqdar World Summit in Moscow on the ICA Congress 2020, which will be held under the theme (Empowering Knowledge Communities).
It is noteworthy that the National Archives organizes on the sidelines of this summit a documentary exhibition that includes historical photographs to present to the Russian public aspects of the history of the United Arab Emirates, and highlight the role of the founding leader Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan in the establishment phase and the challenges he faced, the progress of the UAE and the transformation that took place in a record short time which put the UAE within the ranks of developed countries. The wise leadership follow his footsteps until the UAE reaches prosperity and advancement. All this support the relations between the two countries. 
The National Archives distributes a number of its publications to the participants in the summit: “Zayed Man who Built a Nation”, “Zayed from Challenges to Union”, “Khalifa: Journey into the Future”, and “Qasr Al Hosn”.
It is noteworthy that the National Archives has activities and events that are closely related to the most of the themes of Aqdar Summit in its third edition, and through its initiatives and constructive achievements is considered one of the most prominent landmarks of the UAE in many areas that promote the spread of the culture of tolerance, cooperation and love that is capable of confronting the contemporary challenges.
