The National Archives Conducts a Successful Fire Drill

The National Archives’ conducted a fire drill to improve its staff’s readiness and preparedness, enhance security awareness and ensure safety and a smooth evacuation during emergency. The fire drill, which was conducted in record time under the supervision of the Civil Defense Department, showed complete readiness and preparedness, and compliance off the NA evacuation team with wearing the defined uniform and fulfillment of all requirements. When the alarm sounded, the Abu Dhabi Police were alerted and they arrived at the National Archives’ premises. The electronic gates were opened for the staff to evacuate the building. The evacuation team, who were distinguished by their uniform, guided them. The NA’s entire staff met at the assembly point outside of the building. After receiving the civil defense team’s instructions, they re-entered the building. The National Archives would like to thank the civil defense team for monitoring the evacuation process.

It is worth mentioning that the National Archives showed due consideration for safety and security and it did not hesitate to support crisis management plans. It provided its staff with the required knowledge and experience to enhance safety during disasters and crisis and improved their readiness and preparedness for emergencies. That is why its evacuation plan was successful. The evacuation plan was based on the requirements of the Integrated Management System in which the NA has received a certificate. In the same way that the NA cares for its staff, it is also dedicated to enhance the safety and security of its millions of records.

The head of the civil defense team appreciated the implementation of the fire drill conducted by the National Archives and the prompt response during the evacuation. This is in addition to its security awareness represented in meeting all evacuation conditions and requirements. He stated that conducting the evacuation plan in record time reflects the NA’s management care about the safety and security of its staff.
