The National Archives of the United Arab Emirates held a photo gallery called “Zayed, Man Who Built A Nation” at the Sheikh Zayed Mosque in Abu Dhabi on Thursday Ramadan 19th, corresponding to July 17th, 2014. It will carry on until the second day of Eid. The photo gallery documents aspects of the late Sheikh Zayed’s humanitarian and charitable work.

The gallery was organized upon the directives of HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the National Archives, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the passing of Sheikh Zayed, the founder of the Union, and to celebrate Zayed Humanitarian Work Day.

At the opening of this gallery, HE Dr. Abdulla El Reyes, Director General of the National Archives, said, “Seeking to shed light on Sheikh Zayed’s noble philanthropy, which established the UAE as model in charity work worldwide, the NA organizes this exhibition in celebration of Zayed Humanitarian Work Day and as part of the activities organized on Loyalty Night. HE pointed out the National Archives’ keenness to display some of its archival treasures that express the memory of the nation to its citizens. HE thanked the management of the Sheikh Zayed Mosque for their constructive cooperation and for hosting the exhibition, adding that it gave the opportunity to a large segment of citizens to appreciate the achievements of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who stood as a model for the wise leadership that seeks the welfare of its people and contributes indiscriminately to humanity regardless of race or religion, instilling the same dedication to help others in his citizens as well.”

The Zayed, Man Who Built A Nation exhibition was inaugurated by HE Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al-Mazrouei, the Chairman of the General Authority for Islamic Affairs & Endowments, HE Abdulaziz Nasser Al Raisi, Administrative Development Consultant of the National Archives, and HE Dr. Farouk Hamada, Religious Consultant of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Court. The exhibition shows dozens of historic photographs that depict the charitable works that were carried out worldwide upon the directives of the late Sheikh Zayed. By means of this photo gallery, the NA opens the doors to the visitors of the mosque to take a closer look at aspects of Sheikh Zayed’s unique attributes, in which he invested serving both his own people and humanity without seeking the limelight. His main objective was to help people have a better life. The NA exerted huge efforts in collecting and documenting the displayed photographs that provide details regarding Sheikh Zayed’s philanthropy.
