Educational leaders, history and civics teachers as well as the Cycle 2 students in UAE schools called on the National Archives during the first half of May 2014. The National Archives received more than 400 students during that period as daily scientific trips were organized as per the awareness program: My Homeland, My Identity, My Loyalty and Belonging.

These student trips succeeded the initial visit paid to the National Archives by a large number of educational leaders from the educational zones affiliated to the Ministry of Education. They attended a lecture titled” The Three Islands, A Proven Emirati Right”. Subsequently, intensive student trips from various schools of many educational zones in various Emirates such as Dubai, Fujairah, Sharjah, Umm Al-Quwain, Ras Al-Khaimah and Ajman flowed as part of the Ministry of Education initiative: Memory of the Nation. The trips aimed to provide students with documented information on UAE history complementing the theoretical aspects of what they learn at school. The National Archives presented the information in many different ways such as the holographic national documentaries that students watched in the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Virtual Reality Hall. They depicted the UAE’s glorious past, prosperous present and promising future. Some specialists gave detailed explanations regarding the acquisitions of the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Hall, which document the stages of the Union establishment. The hall has vast number of written documents, old geographic maps, traditional items and rare photographs of the late founding father Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan- may his soul rest in peace- in addition to his achievements in establishing the Union and building the Nation.

In each scientific trip, students attended a lecture named “Identity, Loyalty & Belonging: Supreme National Values”. The lecture focused on historic facts that contributed to enhancing collective identity and national unity. It reinforced the values of identity, loyalty and belonging to the nation with documents, photos and evidence taken from biographies of great men who set up the Union and continued the march to prosperity and contribution.
