The National Archives hosts an Iftar banquet in Ramadan

As usual every year, the UAE’s National Archives had hosted an Iftar banquet for its employees in celebration of the holy month of Ramadan on 14th Ramadan corresponding to 1st July 2015 in Emirates Palace. It aimed at fostering its strategy for strengthening the cordial and fraternal relationships among the employees.
The Iftar banquet has a role in extending bridges and improving the relations between the National Archives and a number of the external entities which it receives their representatives. Accordingly, this will positively lead to developing the work environment.
The National Archives hosts the iftar banquet every year in Ramadan in order to enhance the cordial relationships and social communication among the employees away from the daily work routine and within an atmosphere of harmony and social consolidation. Therefore, it builds team spirit between employees and managers and encourages them to exert further efforts to achieve distinctive accomplishments to be added to the National Archives’ achievements record while collecting and preserving the Memory of the Nation.
The iftar banquet was attended by H.E. Dr. Abdulla Al Reyes, Director General of NA, H.E. Majid Al Mehairi, Executive Director, departments directors and many employees. A large number of officials, ambassadors, diplomatic corps and representatives of scientific and cultural institutions such as Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research and Isa Cultural Center responded to the NA’s invitation for the iftar banquet this year.
The NA presented a documentary film on the screens of the iftar hall. The film was about its achievements and its most significant activities. It focuses on its memorandums of understanding, main specialized symposiums and events and highlights its important acquisitions including historical documents and documentary films as well as the methods of preservation in model archives in line with the best international practices. The documentary film pointed out the electronic base used by the NA in performing its duties and its role in collecting and documenting the oral history. This is in addition to the cultural season, which is available for thousands of beneficiaries, its interest particularly in the student generation and instilling loyalty and belonging among them. After that, it talked about the specialized Emirates Library and how its acquisitions are available for the beneficiaries including researchers and academicians and about the NA’s press and its publications specialized in the history of the UAE and region. The film highlighted the national campaign for documenting the personal records “Watheq” and its wide spread across the UAE at all levels and the exhibitions which the NA organizes or participates in as well as its increasing tendency towards excellence while collecting and preserving the Memory of the Nation.
