During the vote, the IAC members stated that H.E. Dr. Abdulla Elreyes is the best at overseeing the preservation and protection of historical documents, rare books, and world archival collections, and that he is well-recognized for that because of his extensive experience in this field.
H.E. Dr. Elreyes attributed this success to the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the National Archives, whose comprehensive support enhanced the National Archives’ global prestige.
Dr. Elreyes added that we are doing our best to preserve documentary heritage, which conveys the ideas, hopes, and accomplishments of previous generations to all humanity. Our interest in the memory of the world is not a new phenomenon; it is the commandment of the Founder and Leader Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose words are immortalized in history. He said, “He who has no past, has no present or future,” as the lessons of the past are the lessons of present and future.
