The National Archives Receives Six Excellence Awards at the International Business Awards—the Stevie Awards

The National Archives of the United Arab Emirates won six awards in the 12th annual International Business Awards—the Stevie Awards, held in Canada. Stevie awards are the highest international awards in the field of innovation, organizational excellence, and international business. Winning the award confirms the National Archives’ international prestige and its great role in collecting the memory of the nation as well as archiving and preserving it according to the highest international standards and specifications.
On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Abdulla Elreyes, Director-General of the National Archives said that he is pleased to present this victory to our wise leadership H.H. Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the U.A.E.; H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces; H.H. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Chairman of the National Archives; and to all the National Archives’ staff. H.E. pointed out that winning this award came following a fierce competition as more than 60 countries took part and submitted more than 3,700 nominations as per the statistics of Stevie Awards office.
H.E. the Director-General of the National Archives added that the victory the National Archives achieves is a culmination of the great support and the tireless follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan. H.E. congratulated all the National Archives’ staff on winning this award, which is a source of pride, and considered it an incentive for more innovation and progress in the next phase.
H.E. emphasized that winning the international Stevie Award enhances the National Archives’ position internationally and reflects its advanced efforts in collecting and documenting the memory of the nation as per the highest international standards. The National Archives’ winning of this award is proof of the actual response to the initiatives of our wise leadership in order to achieve further excellence and innovation and to improve the National Archives to keep pace with the world's most advanced archives.
It is noteworthy that the six Stevie Awards which the National Archives won are in the categories of the Best Non-Profit Government Organization for the year 2015, the People’s Choice for Best Non-Profit Government Organization for 2015, the Best Media Campaign for 2015 of the national campaign to document personal records Watheq, The Best Exhibition of 2015 the Memory of the Nation Exhibition at the Fifth Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, the Best Website for 2015, and the Best Applications for 2015.
The six trophies of Stevie International Awards were presented in a grand ceremony held in Toronto, Canada and were attended by international institutions and personalities that won the categories of international award to which more than sixty countries applied.
His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Al Raisi, Administrative Development Advisor, and the accompanying delegation received the six awards in the ceremony that took place in Toronto recently, in the presence of a group of decision-makers and entrepreneurs from around the world. The of the National Archives’ delegation was composed of Hamad Al Mutairi, Head the IT Section, Samar Al Mashjeri from the Strategic Planning and Development Office in addition to Ayesha Al Mahmoud and Azza Al Kaabi from the Corporate and Community Outreach Department.
