At the opening of the Sharjah International Book Fair, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council of the Union and Ruler of Sharjah, accepted the National Archives’ gift of the book Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Ruler of Al Ain 1946 -1966. H.H. praised the National Archives’ efforts in documenting the memory of the nation.
H.E. Majid Al Mehairi, National Archives’ Executive Director, presented to H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan the book Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Ruler of Al Ain 1946 -1966. The book deals with an important phase in the U.A.E.’s history. It is the latest in the series of the National Archives’ specialized publications that aim to document the history and heritage of the U.A.E. and the Gulf region.
On the National Archives’ participation in the 34th Sharjah International Book Fair, H.E. Majid Al Mehairi, National Archives’ Executive Director, said that the N.A. is keen to participate in the Sharjah Book Fair as it is a global intellectual event and it comes in line with its interest in both physical books and e-books. The National Archives published dozens of specialized books in the history and heritage of the U.A.E. and the Gulf region and in the fields of archiving and documentation. Additionally, this participation comes in line with our interest in enriching the N.A.’s library with sources and references relevant to the specialization of the National Archives and its national role.
H.E. added that the N.A.’s participation aims to highlight its interest in providing many of its services via user-friendly smart apps. In this fair, the N.A. seeks to raise awareness of its social role, to educate the new generations of the cultural and civilizational legacy of the U.A.E., and to promote the feelings of national identity, loyalty, and belonging.
It is noteworthy that the National Archives is displaying its latest e-book publication Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, Ruler of Al Ain 1946-1966, and avail the visitors with the opportunity to review it. The N.A. pavilion shows many other publications, the most important of them are the Sheikhs’ Diaries:

The volumes of the Sheikhs’ Diaries will be displayed on tablets. The National Archives provides its visitors with access to review the smart app of the audio library of the founding leader the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. It contains hundreds of audio recordings that address various local, Arab, and global issues. Furthermore, the National Archives will present its other smart applications at the fair.
