“My Archive My Future” Campaign to the Educational Zones

The National archives finished distributing thousands of “My Archive My Future” campaign boxes to educational zones in Ajman, Fujairah, Umm Al Quwain, and Ras Al Khaimah. Directors of Educational Zones or their deputies received the campaign boxes.
“My Archive My Future” boxes were distributed following a number of workshops held at all UAE educational zones to familiarize them with the “My Archive My Future” project. Each workshop provided information on the documents that the students will collect within the context of the “My Archive My Future” campaign, which will be part of the memory of the nation in the future. Furthermore, a model of the campaign’s box was displayed. Workshops highlighted the importance of the box as it is manufactured according to international standards. It is lightweight, easy to carry, and specially designed to save documents for long time, resistant to moisture and external factors, acid free and resistant to oxidation, user friendly, and accommodates different sizes of historical documents, student’s identification documents, video clips, photographs and research … etc.
The workshops uncovered the awards that the National Archives prepared for those interested. Awards are assigned for the Best Personal Archive, the Best School Archive, the Best Archival Material, and the Ideal Family that encourages the children to organize their own archives or to organize a special family archive. The National Archives has set special standards and the structure of each award, and specified the categories that can participate in these awards.
The workshops urged the teachers to help students use the box and educate them about the importance of documents and the mechanism of preserving private records and documents for the future in accordance with the best methods and standards and informing them about the necessity of creating a personal archive.
