They praised the innovation and heritage that they saw in the Memory of the Nation Exhibition at Zayed Festival
 A senior delegation from the Albanian National Archives concluded an official visit to the National Archives of the United Arab Emirates. The visit came as an activation of the MoU duly signed by the two parties in last September. A joint project that aims to restore 20,000 rare Arabic documents dating back to the seventh century.
Commenting on the project, H.E. Dr. Abdulla Alreyes, Director General of the National Archives said: “the National Archives is keen in implementing this project of restoring historical manuscripts and obtaining copies as the historical manuscripts that the Albanian Archives holds are of major significance not only to the National Archives but also to human history in general and Arab history in particular.”  H.E. emphasized that the National Archives’ quest to preserve these manuscripts is a quest to preserve the world cultural heritage; as these manuscripts which document events that took place hundreds of years ago reflect aspects of human life in historical stages. H.E. confirmed that this vast amount of historical manuscripts constitute an important addition to the National Archives’ acquisitions. 
H.E. stressed the importance of exchanging experiences between the National Archives of the UAE and the Albanian National Archives and expressed his pleasure to enhance the cooperation between the two sides.
Director General of the National Archives welcomed H.E. Gjet Ndoj, the Director General of the Albanian National Archives and thanked him on the precise coordination and efforts he exerts to activate the articles of the MoU in the best interest of both archives.
The visiting delegation acquainted themselves with the National Archives’ role in preserving the UAE history and its efforts and most advanced work mechanism in its capacity as a national archives that strives to collect and preserve the memory of the nation. The delegation also learned about some aspects of the National Archives’ history and evolution, which is attributed to the major support and attention of the wise leadership and of the chairman of the National Archives, His Highness Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
The visiting delegation toured the National Archives headquarters and saw the collections at Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Hall that displays samples of historical documents, rare books, photographs, old maps that monitor the stage of establishing the Union. They also watched a 3D documentary about " The UAE: The Past, Present and Future" in Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Hall for Virtual Reality.
The delegation visited the Presidential Archive Section that contains photographs and videos which document the domestic and external activities of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. The Presidential Archive Section retains, edits and digitizes the old documentaries. It has more than 65,000 photographs and 13,000 celluloids. The delegation also visited the National Archives’ Printing Press and its Library that is specialized in the history and heritage of the UAE and the Gulf Region.
His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Alreyes accompanied the visiting delegation to the 6th Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival at Al Wathba. They took a tour in the Memory of the Nation pavilion with which the National Archives is participating in the festival.
H.E. Gjet Ndoj, the Director General of the Albanian National Archives as well as his companions expressed their admiration for the contents of the Memory of the Nation pavilion and the creative technical feature of “Zayed the Great Hall, Zayed: A March Inspiring Generations” hall and “A Journey through Time” hall.  They also expressed their admiration for Heritage architectural nature of the exhibition and the integration that distinguishes it as it combines the past and the present.
At the end of the visit, H.E. Director General of the Albanian National Archives and his companions commended the National Archives of the UAE and its advanced performance in collecting and preserving the Memory of the Nation. They thanked its administration for the hospitality and recognition that they received.
