The National Archives celebrates Flag Day, and hoists the flag at its headquarters
On this occasion, the NA organized a lecture on the flag in the Western Region attended by more than 700 participants.

The National Archives hoisted the UAE flag at its headquarters in response to the call of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to hoist the flag of the United Arab Emirates at all entities, departments, ministries and houses. This is to express solidarity with our armed forces, and unity with our wise leadership.
On this occasion, H.E. Dr. Abdulla Al Reyes, Director General of the National Archives said after hoisting the flag that the National Archives celebrates the Flag Day in response to the invitation launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohamed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to celebrate the flag and hoist it high everywhere as a source of our pride. This reflects our pride in our country and its prosperity which prompted it to occupy highest and most advanced positions in all walks of life globally.
H.E. added that as we celebrate the Flag Day we remember the founding fathers who hoisted the flag for the first time on December 2nd, 1971. We recall the sacrifices that were made to keep it hoisted high for four decades, and on this great occasion, we assure our leadership of our loyalty and dedication in our homeland service to keep the flag flying high.
In celebration of the Flag Day, the National Archives organized a national lecture titled “the Flag, Its Protocols, its provision and its role in enhancing the sense of national belonging” at Al Shomoukh School in the Western Region. More than 700 students and teachers attended it.
The lectures included a detailed explanation of the flag and its significance as a symbol for the state, and its independence, existence and identity it assumes before the international community. It holds the highest rank in the state since everyone stands at attention in its honor and respect.
The lecture gave account of the history and story of the flag, the significance of its colors, and how it was adopted as the official flag of the United Arab Emirates in 1971.
