In the course of its cultural season, the National Archives of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs organized a national lecture titled “Zayed.. The Ruling Philosophy and the Genius Leadership” in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Ministry's general Diwan in Abu Dhabi. This was one of the National Archives’ lectures that enriched its cultural season and national events. The lecture topic and content were derived from the biography of the Late Founder and Leader Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and from his views, wisdom and philosophy in politics and ruling due to their great impact on enhancing the sense of loyalty and belonging to the nation.
Mr. Abdullatif Al Sayyadi, Research Expert at the NA, focused in his lecture on two key topics. The first topic was Zayed, his genius in overcoming the challenges of establishing the Union, supported with examples of the leader’s sagacity in solving outstanding border issues with other neighboring regional countries, his political rationality in handling the issue of the three Emirati islands invasion by Iran in 1971 and his famous wisdom in dealing with the regional recognition of his newborn country. In the second topic, Al Sayyadi tackled many subjects, notably Zayed between presidency and chieftaincy, Zayed and the Exceptional Leadership as well as comparing him to a number of contemporary world leaders based on historical documents available in the National Archives.
The lecturer pointed out that Zayed’s humanitarian, development and political achievements are absolute facts, which require extending beyond the description and counting of these achievements to contemplating the thoughts of this great Arab leader and his philosophy in building the state and establishing the union, and reviewing the local, regional and international challenges he encountered during his journey to achieve his dream with a unique political wisdom, sharp foresight and a strong leading character. This is in addition to studying his unique exceptional character as a president and leader supporting the union.
The lecture presented many undeniable historical facts and supporting documents which identify, establish the leadership skills of the late Founder, Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and illustrate how he managed to safely guide his young country through very hard and complicated regional and international circumstances to occupy its distinguished political and civilized position among nations within a short period of time.
